Taino Beach, Saona Island: What to Know Before You Go

Taino Beach is located on Saona Island in the Dominican Republic. It is a spacious Caribbean beach with a wide sandy shoreline, palm trees, and clear water.
Taino is larger than Catuano Beach and offers plenty of space for swimming, walking along the coast, and relaxing by the Caribbean Sea. The beach has a lively, welcoming atmosphere, and the number of visitors can vary throughout the day.

Swimming and Relaxing at Taino Beach

Taino Beach gives you plenty of space to enjoy your time on Saona Island. You can swim in the Caribbean Sea, walk along the shoreline, relax on a beach lounger, or spend some time under the palm trees.
Local vendors may sometimes be present with souvenirs and handmade items. Local massage therapists are also available on the beach and can offer massages right by the Caribbean Sea for an additional charge.
There is one area where guests should be more careful when entering the water. If you are standing on the beach facing the sea, coral can be found toward the left side, around the area across from the volleyball net and the Viva sign.
We recommend watching where you step in this particular area to avoid scraping your feet or legs on the coral. Most of the remaining swimming area is predominantly sandy.

Taino Beach Package

A Beach Package is required to visit Taino Beach. You can choose between two types of beach experience:

Beach Package with Lunch
Choose one of the available lunch options and enjoy your time at Taino with a beach lounger, open bar, and access to the beach facilities.

Beach Package without Lunch
Prefer to skip lunch? This option includes a beach lounger, open bar, and access to the beach facilities, so you can settle in and enjoy your time by the Caribbean Sea.

Both options include everything you need for a comfortable beach stop at Taino.

Getting to Taino Beach

Taino Beach does not have a pier. Guests are transferred from their private yacht or catamaran to shore by a small dinghy.
After landing, there is approximately a five-minute walk through a palm grove before reaching the main beach area.
It is a short and scenic walk through the tropical landscape of Saona Island before arriving at the beach.

Which Yachts Can Visit Taino Beach?

Because Taino Beach is located farther along the route, this destination is not available with every yacht.
For some yachts, visiting Taino also requires an additional fuel surcharge. This surcharge covers the extra fuel needed for the longer route to the beach.
When planning your charter, our team will confirm whether Taino is available with your selected yacht and let you know in advance if a fuel surcharge applies. This way, all the details are clear before your trip.

Taino Beach by Private Yacht or Private Catamaran

Your charter is completely private. The yacht or catamaran is reserved exclusively for you and your party — you will not be joining a shared excursion with other guests.
A private yacht is a comfortable choice for couples, families, and smaller groups. A private catamaran offers more space and is especially convenient for larger families and groups of friends.
Because Taino has its own Beach Package and specific access arrangements, we recommend selecting this destination when planning your charter so everything can be arranged in advance.
Taino Beach is a great option for guests who want to combine a private day on the Caribbean Sea with time on a spacious Saona beach — swimming, relaxing under the palms, enjoying the open bar, or adding lunch to their beach experience.
